About Me

I'm Michelle, a freelance journalist and library director.

One day in December 2009, I began Googling "book challenges." As I have always been an avid reader, I thought a little challenge to the new year would be in order, so I joined a couple of challenges to help focus my reading a bit. This blog was born from those challenges.

I love to read most anything, although I have a tendency to shy away from most thrillers (I call it "James Patterson Syndrome") and chick lit (Way too much drama for me!). I absolutely adore the classics, with Shakespeare and Jane Austen among my favorites.

Here are the other players in this little bloggy saga you may meet from time to time:

My husband, Aaron.

He allows me to have floor-to-ceiling bookshelves in the dining room and stacks of books on the tables.

And he probably will kill me if he ever actually visits my blog and clicks on this tab. Wait, no, he won't. He loves this picture from our wedding.

Our cat, Hamlet.

He is happiest when his food dish is full and I'm sitting on the couch reading.

He has been known to "mark" my books with his chompers if I move around too much or don't pay enough attention to him.
